Teal symbolizes the bridge between love (heart, green) and truth (throat, blue).
It’s the color of compassionate communication, helping you speak your truth with kindness and emotional depth.
Hi, I'm Joél Prudhomme, owner of PrudEcho. I help your business unlock a whole new market of customers by building authentic bridges with the Deaf community. We specialize in effective communication, advocacy, and resource development.
My journey with American Sign Language began in 5th grade when I took an ASL class after my first choice (cooking!) was full. It was fate.
Twelve years later, while pursuing my culinary degree at UNLV, I encountered a Deaf student and their interpreter in a class at the College of Southern Nevada. I was transfixed, paying more attention to their conversation than the lecture. The next semester, I changed my major. This path hasn't always been easy, but it led me directly to my purpose.
Communication happens when all parties agree to truly listen. For me, listening isn't just about hearing words; it's about taking the time to understand what someone is trying to express, however they express it. I've always been a natural mediator—a God-given gift I developed helping my own family through communication breakdowns. Now, I use that gift to make a real impact in the broader community and with the Deaf community that has so graciously welcomed me.
I am new to this business, but I am not new to the determination and hard work required for success. Through PrudEcho and the PrudEcho Foundation, I am committed to filling a vital communication gap in our community.
My vision is clear: Bridge the Hearing and Deaf worlds, echoing their voices with prudent choices. I look forward to the honor of being you echo!
